Scale & Pan

Fine-tune the exact zoom with Scale and reposition the frame with Pan – the manual controls for a pixel-perfect fit on any screen.

When a preset mode gets you 90% of the way there, Scale and Pan take you the rest. Both live in the Settings tab and apply live as you adjust them.

Scale (X / Y)

Scale is manual control over width and height:

  • Scale X widens the video, Scale Y heightens it.
  • Linked keeps the aspect ratio locked so both axes move together.
  • Unlinked lets you adjust width and height independently.

Use it to dial in a monitor where Upscale crops slightly too much or too little. Adjusting Scale automatically puts you in Custom mode, and Clear resets back to default.

Pan (X / Y)

Pan shifts the visible part of the video after it's been zoomed or cropped:

  • Move the frame on either axis to re-center what you want to see.
  • Perfect for a video where the subject sits off-center, or where hard-coded subtitles get cropped — nudge them back into view.

Clear recenters the frame at any time.

Good to know

Scale and Pan are the manual escape hatch — they work on any video, on any site, for free. Pair them with Video Modes to get from "close enough" to "exactly right," and your values are saved for next time.
